Hi

I am sorry to have to send another email out so soon. As usual, when there is something that the Administration doesn't want you to know they will be discussing, they don't post the Agenda until late Monday afternoon, just hours before the meeting itself. The Agenda was forwarded to me and I see the reason why.

Typical of the Miller regime (soon to come to an end), they are trying to force things through before the end of the year and perhaps trying to saddle the new Board with expenses or obligations that they might not want to be a part of.

Attached is the Agenda. I am especially intrigued by the last few issues to be "discussed", which are:

13. Approval of a Settlement of Arbitration with the Police Bargaining Unit
Should the old Board, which changes in 2 weeks, be the ones to approve any Settlement of Arbitration with the Police Bargaining unit? The answer is no.

New Business:
17. Approval of new collective bargaining agreement with AFSCME
Should the old Board, which changes in 2 weeks, be the ones to approve the new collective bargaining agreement with AFSCME? AFSCME is the union that the West Vincent Township Road Crew belongs to. West Vincent is the only Township in the area that has a UNION Road Crew. The answer is no.

18. Employment contract with Chief Swininger
Should the old Board, which changes in 2 weeks, be the ones working an employment contract with the Police Chief? The answer is no.

I see a taxpayer abuse potentially headed your way. I also recommend that the residents should be at the Board of Supervisors meeting tonight, Monday, December 14 and be prepared to ask questions. It's your money. It could be a lot of it. Potential changes could be vacation day increase, wage increases, pension increases, higher insurance coverage, more employees, severance packages and plenty of other things that will cost the public not only this year, but FOREVER. Once things are given, they are hard to ever take away in future negotiations. Call your neighbors, call your friends, Know first hand what is going on. If West Vincent thought this was OK, the Agenda certainly would have been posted by Friday at noon. It wasn't. Be concerned. Be vigilant.
