Hi

Let me tell you how Township Attorney Steven Siana places the Township at risk of a very expensive lawsuit.

Mr. Siana produced, delivered and collected payment for an ordinance pertaining to the use of the Township building which was adopted on October 13, 2014. The entire ordinance is linked here but below is the section in question.

West Vincent Township Building Use Policy:
Rules of Conduct
"The following rules of conduct shall apply to the public’s use of the Township building:
d. Possession or use of fireworks, firearms, rockets, explosives, or weapons is prohibited."

This is clearly against the law in Pennsylvania. Townships do not have the ability to restrict anyone from the legal possession of a firearm, period. see 6120.
"Limitation on the regulation of firearms and ammunition.

(a) General rule.--No county, municipality or township may in any manner regulate the lawful ownership, possession, transfer or transportation of firearms, ammunition or ammunition components when carried or transported for purposes not prohibited by the laws of this Commonwealth."

Here is an interesting article on how other townships have quickly backed away from this restriction:  More than 20 Pa. municipalities repeal gun control ordinances to avoid facing legal action http://www.pennlive.com/nation-world/2015/01/more_than_20_pa_municipalities.html

Please do not consider this email as a pro-gun or anti-gun argument. This is simply about the law and those that are paid well to know the law and paid to research what they do not know. If the West Vincent ordinance gets challenged, Steve Siana once again makes money trying to defend an illegal ordinance, created by Steve Siana. Remember, this is Ken Miller's (Supervisor for 24 years) personal attorney.

Election Day is May 19, one month away. Stop the wasting of the taxpayers money. It goes on far too often in West Vincent Township. The citizens of West Vincent deserve better representation. Vote Mike Schneider for Supervisor.

Best wishes

Chickenman
