A public notice was sent out by the Chester County Health Department for all township administrations to post for their citizens. Since it has not been disseminated by West Vincent Township, I have attached both the link and the text of the message. Hopefully, after this comes out, West Vincent will get it out there for the public at large.

Here is the announcement:
Chester County Health Department

Potassium Iodide Distribution
The Chester County Health Department will be distributing Potassium Iodide tablets for those who live, work, or attend school within a 10 mile radius of the Limerick Nuclear Plant.
The tablets will be distributed on Thursday, August 11, 2011 from 2:00pm to 7:00pm at:
Kimberton Fire House
762 Pike Springs Road
Phoenixville, PA
This event is for:
   • residents who have KI tablets that exceed their expiration date.
   • new residents who have recently moved near the nuclear power facility.
   • those who work or attend school within a 10-mile radius.
Individuals will be able to pick up tablets for their family members and those who are unable to pick them up on their own.
In the unlikely event of a radiological emergency, potassium iodide helps protect the thyroid against the harmful effects of radioactive iodine. Residents should only take potassium iodide tablets upon the instructions of  Pennsylvania State Health Officials and the Governor.
For Chester County residents who need KI tablets and cannot attend this distribution, tablets are available at the Chester County Health Department. Please call 610-344-6252 for further information.

Remember.  Many people - including me - believe that being well prepared for a catastrophe reduces it's possible effects..................It's a derivative of Murphy's Law.

As usual, if you want to be on or off my list, or have some comments or suggestions, or know someone who would like to be on the list, please let me know.  Feel free to forward this email on to anyone you think might be interested.   Especially though, if you don't want to continue to receive my mails, please tell me. I'll take you off the list and confirm that I have done so.   Just hit reply to this email or write to chestercountynews@gmail.com

Best wishes
