It seems that West Vincent Township voted to accept the union contract on Tuesday night, at a special meeting.

A copy of the union contract is on the website, although it is a little hard to find. It is in the Finance section, not the Roads Department section. Now, there are more than just Road crew in this contract, there are a couple office personnel included so it might be a little hard to classify as just the Roads Dept. but it seems they were the ones pushing for the Union.

I notice they get paid for lunch. Interesting. West Vincent is better than free lunch. Here, we the taxpayers, pay for it.

In the normal fashion of the West Vincent Administration, the contract posted does not have the pay schedule attached to it, an official part of a union contract. Page 6, Article 5 Wages, Section 1-Wage Schedule (a) specifically states:

"Employees shall be compensated at the hourly rates reflected in the wage schedule attached to this Agreement and marked as Appendix A reflecting the following increases in each year of the Agreement....."

There is no way for the public to know exactly what they are paying the employees. Where is "Appendix A"?  So, once again, the whole truth doesn't matter here in West Vincent.

As usual, if you want to be on or off my list, or have some comments or suggestions, or know someone who would like to be on the list, please let me know.  Feel free to forward this email on to anyone you think might be interested.   Especially though, if you don't want to continue to receive my mails, please tell me. I'll take you off the list and confirm that I have done so.   Just hit reply to this email or write to chestercountynews@gmail.com

Best wishes
